Shere Khan is an extremely wealthy businessman who owns a multi-national corporation called Khan Industries, and is the dominant economic force in Cape Suzette.
Description[]
He is sometimes accompanied by an unnamed emaciated tiger "yes-man" office aide. He takes enjoyment out of running small companies out of business (Higher for Hire is sometimes on his hit list) with a sense of ruthlessness to skirt around the law as he chooses. He also likes to feed tiny insects to the many carnivorous plants he grows in his office. He once even hired the Air Pirates to create an artificial oil shortage so he could extort higher prices from the public (from "On a Wing and a Bear").
He has a well-armed air force and navy, complete with battleships. This is mainly to protect his shipping and business interests worldwide. However, he is willing to act nobly at times, such as ordering his forces into the air to protect the city from the Air Pirates, and has shown that he respects Baloo's piloting skills, most notably when he allowed Baloo to take over piloting his plane after having all pilots replaced with his own robotic pilots; his plane had been ambushed by the air pirates and the robotic pilot refused to deviate from its flight plan due to its programing, causing Baloo to forcefully remove the robot and take control of the plane to evade the air pirates. He even saved Louie's place from being blown up by Benson.
Despite leaning towards more villainous undertakings, Shere Khan is a neutral character who would stand against Baloo and the heroes on occasions, and side with them on other occasions. His only interest is to make more money and expand his power and authority. He's also shown to hold no grudges, since in the occasions where Baloo and his friends made him lose an affair, he didn't plot for revenge later.
The only true challenge posed to Khan is the Miniversal Corporation, second only to Khan Industries in scale and profits. Managed by chairman and CEO Mr. Sultan — a longtime business rival of Shere Khan — Miniversal fiercely competes with Khan Industries in many areas, chiefly aerospace development and electronics. While Khan Industries may officially deny that the Miniversal Corporation intimidates them in any way, reduced profit last quarter has forced Khan Industries to step up production of its revolutionary top-secret flying project. This move will prevent Miniversal from gaining an advantageous financial edge in what has so far been a close battle between these two corporate giants.

Shere Khan then telephoned his airfield.
"Hmm. A pity - That was a pilot to be reckoned with. Scramble the planes."
"Yes. I believe you. Thousands wouldn't. Get me the airfield." - Shere Khan |
Ep. 5- From Here to Machinery | In "From Here to Machinery", Shere Khan was first seen reading the Tribune newspaper where a picture of an angry Baloo is displayed on the front page. It was then revealed that Professor Martin Torque was in Shere Khan's office to attempt selling a dozen of his Auto-Aviators. Professor Torque assured that his tests are complete and thus his machines were perfect however, Shere Khan was still skeptical and told the professor that he thinks Torque's robots can't handle all situations. Shere Khan considered buying a thousand of Torque's Auto-Aviators if the machine won a test against the real pilots. Torque was upset about Shere Khan's skepticism and the delay of Shere Khan buying his Auto-Aviators, as he was dismissed walking in the rain to his Streamline Moderne vehicle.
Shere Khan was annoyed by Professor Torque's frantic call for help so he took the radio transceiver and grabbed the professor by the collar band and threw him to a couch on the plane. Shere Khan announced that they are about to be attacked by pirates near Mount Rozika and promised whoever will save them will be paid handsomely. Baloo came to rescue and in order to remove the Auto-Aviator from its pilot seat, Baloo poured soda pop on it to short-circuit. This upsetted Professor torque as the robot exploded. The professor attacked Baloo but Shere Khan grabbed him on the neck and thew him away.

Ep. 22- On a Wing and a Bear | Shere Khan was first seen in his office. At the door, his assistant was impeding Rebecca Cunningham on seeing him. Shere Khan told his assistant that it is alright for her to come in and let her speak her piece. Shere Khan granted Rebecca's request for a glass of water for she had a long walk across his office. Shere Khan knew Rebecca came because of the high gas prices. Shere Khan's assistant interrupted and announced him that another of his oil tankers has been hijacked by the Air Pirates. Unknown to Rebecca, this is just a ruse. Shere Khan acted that he's upset that Don Karnage has hijacked his tanker and explicitly announced that gas prices will have to go higher. Rebecca pleaded that high prices makes it difficult for her business but Shere Khan politely apologized that he couldn't keep the prices constant. Rebecca thought of selling her sofa for a loose change and then left. When she was gone, Shere Khan cut off the act and ordered his assistant to send a telegram to Don Karnage congratulating him for his sucessful hijack.
At the end of the episode, Shere Khan was seen to be distressed, as he scratched the wooden armrests of his chair with his sharp claws. This was because he had just found out that the airpolice were already investigating his and Don Karnage's efforts to create the gas shortage. Shere Khan suspected Don Karnage of either betraying him or failing to keep their deal a secret. To retaliate, Shere Khan sent his assistant to deliver a ticking telegram to Don Karnage. This telegram was designed to trigger a sympathetic detonation, causing the oil tanks to explode. As a result, the island where the Air Pirates had stored their stolen oil tanks was destroyed. |
Ep. 29- Whistlestop Jackson, Legend | Shere was first seen making a deal with the Finance Minister, LaFong, of Klopstokia. In this episode, it becomes known that Shere Khan holds the position of Chairman, as he is addressed as such by LaFong. The finance minister advised that only their president, President Myron, can award exclusive delivery contracts. Shere Khan told him that he was aware of it and so the tiger tempted the finance minister to accept a covert deal which make them both very rich. The cautious finance minister was tempted and asked if Shere Khan's plans could not be upset. His question triggered Shere Khan's patience and so the tiger assured that when he gives his word, it should be enough.

There, Gomer persuaded the three that they need special volunteers to work in the mine. When Kit asked what the minerals are on the pail, Gomer informed them that they're mining Urgonium, a mineral that has some peculiarities. Gomer also told them they recently ran out of silver. The curious Wildcat took a piece of Urognium from a pail to examine it but Wendell told him to put it back where he took it. Wildcat then dropped the piece back to the pail and the mine exploded. The peculiarity of Urgonium was then discovered by the three that it explodes whenever it hits something hard.
